Rainy days weren't always the most ideal time to be outside. Yet alas, Vince was one of the strange few to take chances during such weather. Of course, he had taken an umbrella with him. He wasn't that stupid to just venture off into the cold and get soaked. He knew better than that. He was enjoying his stroll through the now damp grounds. The wet scenery of nature allured him unlike it normally did. There was something different about it. Maybe it was personal preference or something. After a few minutes, he found himself at a small hut. With common instinct and wanting a dryer place to stay for a while, he entered it and noticed it was empty, with just a few wooden stools here and there. He closed his umbrella, placed it down, and sat on one of the seats, sighing as he glanced out the window. Now what? He did not know.

Wasn't it almost summer already? Bianca didn't know, nor did she particularly care. One thing was for sure; she wouldn't have gone out of the castle if it was nice and sunny outside. Her poor skin wouldn't be able to handle it! Not really, but she just didn't like too much heat in general. And getting sweaty. Having never been to Europe before, she didn't know what the weather would be like here, but needless to say she was happy to see it raining, and took the opportunity to explore the grounds.

As she was walking along, just ignoring the droplets falling on her skin and clothes, she happened upon a hut. Out of curiosity, she decided to knock on the door. Twice. Very loudly.

It may have been quite odd for a random boy to go straying off far from the castle, during a rainstorm, and sitting alone in an old dark cottage off near the mountains, but then again, considering how he preferred his lifestyle that way, it didn't matter what others thought of him. As long as they kept those to themselves, he could careless about them, Besides, the castle was usually crowded during this type of weather. With the entire school's population packed under one roof, it was normally a big riot. He had spaced out for a moment with his deep thoughts, that he didn't even notice the figure of a person approaching, despite facing the window. He only noticed this when he heard two loud knocks on the door. He scratched his head as he went to open the door only to be greeted by a girl younger than him. His eyebrows rose slightly. Yes? Was all he said.

Bianca at the moment probably looked like she just came out of one of those Muggle horror movies she liked to watch. You know, those scenes where the girl was being chased through the woods by a psychotic killer type of person who walked slowly and yet could still catch up to her as soon as she slipped and fell in the mud? Yeah, like that. Except she wasn't muddy, she wasn't frantic, just rain-soaked. Oh, and she had seen some kind of forest not too far away. Anyway, she raised a brow, too, when she saw who opened the door. For some reason she was expecting an old hermit, hunched over, and with a long white beard that trailed to the floor who maybe had awesome stories to tell her about old kinds of magic and stuff. Instead she saw a teenage boy. Well, that was kind of a letdown.

Craning her neck slightly to see past him to the hut's interior, she eventually gave up and just asked, "Can I come in?" She wasn't really trying to get out of the rain; she just wanted to see the inside. Figuring he didn't live there, he shouldn't care, right?

Upon opening the door, he just stood there, glancing at the girl for a few minutes, noticing that she was dripping wet from the rain. He wondered why some random girl was wandering far from the castle given that the weather wasn't ideal for.. well, wandering. He heard her question, and glanced around the room. It wasn't much as it was practically empty and not to mention how small it was, but it didn't really matter at all. He just shrugged. Why? He casually asked, and immediately stepping back without waiting for an answer, letting the girl in. He then went back to sit on his stool, resuming his previous position.

'Why' he asked, but didn't bother to wait for an answer, so Bianca just didn't bother to answer, instead stepping inside and shutting the door behind her. She just glanced at him as he went to sit by the window, probably planning to just ignore her, which suited her fine. In the meantime she was going to look around, and see what history she could dig up from this old place. It looked really old and dusty. And empty. She wondered what it had been used for and who used to live there. A shepherd? Nah. The Groundskeeper? No... she was pretty sure it wouldn't look so abandoned if it was.

So she just started to poke around the place, dripping water all over the floor as she shuffled and explored. She wasn't a very quiet girl. Not chatty, but she was careless in the amount of noise she made otherwise.

Seated quietly as he was a few minutes ago, He just lazily resumed glancing at the window, just relaxing himself with the sound of the rain pouring. Yes, it definitely looked as if he was bored, which he kind of was, but the peaceful aura that this abandoned hut possessed was to his liking, and he enjoyed it, so that was all that mattered to him. So far, all was well, until although he was hesitant with letting this girl in, she didn't bother him yet, and that was good to know, since he could careless about the girl. Up until a few distracting noises caught his attention. What exactly are you doing? He asked with an almost calm tone.

Bianca looked up from where she had started to kick at the wall. She then shrugged and gave one last kick, causing some dust and bits of straw to fall from the ceiling. ::Nice and stable.:: She was hoping for some artifacts or something. Maybe an old journal? Or did shepherds even know how to write back then? How long had the place been abandoned? She figured finally that it probably used to be someone's home, and was only being kept now because it wasn't falling apart, maybe just in case for times like this when people were stranded in the rain and too far from the castle or elsewhere in which to take shelter.

As she was turning around, finally her gaze landed on him again and she remembered he had asked her something. Ah? What was it? Something... "Nothing." was her answer. Maybe she would have said more, but then her attention was caught by a pile of something in one of the corners. Instantly she went there and started rifling through it.

Well, there goes the solitude vibe of the room. Maybe he shouldn't have allowed the girl in. Ah well, what's done was done. He rolled his eyes upon hearing a few kicks. Even outside, in a secluded area near the mountains far from the school, he couldn't find a place of silence that lasted more than nine minutes. Upon hearing the girl respond with a nothing, He gave a shrug for himself. At least she didn't bother him. Glancing out the window, the rain weakened to just a light shower. Carry on.. He said, picking up his umbrella and approaching the door, he opened it, followed by his umbrella and stepped out, not caring to close the door. He was to head back to the castle, until a goat just behind the hut caught his attention. And being the naturalist that he was, he approached it carefully as not to shock the bejeepers out of it. He heard and read about the mundane animal, but being a pureblood, never got a chance to observe one up close. He crouched down, and watched it munch on grass. He could still hear the girl rummaging through stuff from inside, in which he occasionally glanced to see what she was doing from the window.

Hah! And just when she was starting to wonder if she should be more friendly or something. Wasn't that what Hufflepuffs were supposed to do? And yet she didn't even notice he had left; she was too busy sifting through tattered rags, ashes, dirt, looking for treasures that were not likely to be there. Hm? Had he said something again? She looked up then and looked over her shoulder. Not seeing him in the hut, she just shrugged again and went back to what she was doing.

"AH!" She grinned triumphantly when she managed to uncover something flat and round. A button? No, a coin! After scratching and rubbing at it, she was able to make out what metal it was made of. Bronze...? A knut? She checked her pockets for one of her own, found one, and compared the two. The older one was duller, of course, and the goat and words on its surface had already been all but rubbed off. She managed to pop it out from the crud it had been practically buried in. Straightening up, she strode purposefully to the window for slightly better light with which to look at her find. There she just stood, squinting at the coin, wondering just how old it was, and how rich or poor the owner had been.

Perhaps leaving the old cottage was a good decision Vince made. He found the scenery outside to be far more interesting than the dull, nothingness that occupied the old barren structure. He directed his attention back at the goat. Gah, if only he brought with him the research journal. No way was he going to take extra effort to go back and forth from here to the castle. He sighed as he continued to watch it feasting on it's preferred diet. He'd just have to rely on his memory to save the knowledge he would pick up. He shook his head to himself upon hearing something, and glanced once more at the window, spotting the girl standing in front of it, a round object which Vince couldn't identify as of now, in her hand. Curiosity struck the Pureblood, wondering what it was, but since it was none of his business, ignored it and went back to what he was doing. He carefully sat on a boulder, not caring if it was slightly wet. He settled himself comfortably on it, umbrella in hand, shielding him as he admired the surrounding area of trees blending in with the mountains, and the rain just adding to the beauty.

She was happy now. Very happy. Even if she didn't know how long ago the coin had been left there, Bianca was still pleased just to have unearthed it. Hurray for persistence. She could probably look around some more and maybe find a tool of some sort or something, but for now this was fine. Funny how an old little thing could make the trip worthwhile in her eyes.

She pocketed her find, then leaned on her elbows on the windowsill. Only then did she realize the boy from before was still there, just sitting outside. Was he outside because she was inside? Probably. She didn't much care about the living, though. Even so, she figured since she was going to have to socialize eventually anyway, this was as good a time to practice? "Hey. What's your name?"

The fifth year stifled a yawn as he soothingly gazed at the stunning view before him. These were times he enjoyed Hogwarts. It was a massively large area. So large, that you could always find an interesting place you've never discovered before, such as this quaint, little plot of land on the mountainside. However, it could take a lot of time and effort exploring for a while to find such beautiful places, and eventually, if you weren't familiar with the more common areas of the expansive grounds, chances were, you would end up getting lost. That was one of the problems here at Hogwarts; How big it was. He sighed, stealing a quick glance at his watch, before standing up. He was going to leave, but was stopped in his tracks when the girl from a moment ago had leaved the hut, and approached him. Why was it whenever he had nothing to do, people left him alone, but when he was obviously busy with something, or was going somewhere, people disturbed him. He couldn't understand that concept, really. Whether they did it to annoy others or were busy with their own stuff, he did not know. Nor why it was such a common thing to happen to him. He could just walk away, and ignore the girl, but considering he wasn't purely rude, decided to at least say something. Vincent Ortega He muttered, leaning against the stone wall of the old cottage, glancing back at the goat, and then back at the girl. Well, this was certainly interesting.

What was interesting? Bianca hadn't really been expecting an answer, but when he gave his name, well, all right. Now what the heck was she supposed to do with the thing? It didn't make them automatically friends or anything. Hrm. Maybe she should just save asking for names until after she had known someone for... a long time or something.

Bad timing? Had she interrupted something just by her simple question? He could have ignored her, and left, and she wouldn't have cared. She raised a brow as she looked at the goat, too, then back at him. She thought aloud, "You weren't by any chance thinking that I looked like that goat, were you?" Yeah... that was her version of teasing, except because she almost never smiled, without a smile, it possibly sounded sarcastic.

((More than 7 days already... NEW RP...))

Kierra was out in the open again, after being stuck in her room for more than a week or so because of studying and everything. She remembered that the only place she haven't visited yet on her two years was the one they called barren hut, and so, she decided to tour that place. As she get there, which thankfully wasn't really hard for the first time. Kierra wasn't really direction - oriented, so getting lost wasn't really new to her but when this instance where she find her way with ease is more shocking. She scanned the place and felt the refreshing breeze of the mid-cold, mid-warm air. She decided to stay for a bit. She knew that this is what her mind need in order to relax and think outside the box.

Schneizer wandered around. He hadn't decided where he would really go but since it's already summer. He have more time for himself even though he hadn't alloted much time on studying. Schneizer put his hands on th back of his head as he walked around. He was glad it's finally sumer which means he wasn't forced to enroll to any of the classes. He wandered what happened to his sister. She didn't replied to any of the letters he had sent. He tried not to make it obvious that he cares about her but well he felt something was up. He wanted to go home but home isn't a home. His like a puppet there. He doesn't have any freedom to do anything he liked. He passed by to someone. A girl. Schneizer just decided to ignore her and sat on the ground.

Kierra was relaxing and thinking about her future when, suddenly, someone appeared from nowhere. He took a seat on the ground just near her. He went near him thinking he might need company.

"Hi! I'm Kierra. You waiting for someone or pretty much alone?" Kierra asked out of curiosity. Kierra scanned the boy from head to toe. Eyeing at his robe, he noticed that it was a Sly guy. She realized that she bark up the wrong tree. Never did Kierra liked Sly guys. Even though Kierra has a bit of Slyish character, she thought that the Sly boys goes beyond their limit. Now, she’s only hoping that this guy has a bit of nice character in him and he had not fully adopted that “Sly character” she really hate.

((OOC: Sorry it took long....))

::A dork for company? Wasn't it obvious that I ignore her? Geez. Dorks nowadays:: Schneizer just look at her for a moment. He doesn't got anything to do other than sleep. Sleeping is much better than talking for Schneizer. He can be very lazy like his writer.
"Schneizer Bismarc. I'm pretty much alone."He yawned. Schneizer can't think of any topic to discuss with dorks. Blood purity? That wouldn't be a good subject. He met stubborn blood traitors and Schneizer think that it's just a waste of time.

Odessa began walking back to the castle after a walk around the grounds. It was getting late and she wanted to get back up to the library so she could check out a few books before she made her way down to the common room. Clouds overhead sounded a bit ominous, letting out a few roars here and there so she thought it would be best for her to pull out her black poncho. She laid her backpack down on the ground and rummaged through it for a bit, but before she could find anything it began to downpour.

"Oh no!" She looked annoyed at the clouds for a brief moment then grabbed her bag and ran toward a hut about one hundred feet away from where she'd been. Her bag wasn't water proof and she knew that some of her books and possessions were going to get wet if she didn't get out of the rain and fast. However, when she finally made it into the hut and out of the rain she noticed....

Vinny was on his patrol place. Was it? He can't remember where he and Tamy should patrol in the lawns. It confused him. Not like he had any other choice but to patrol someplace in the lawns and in the dungeons. He was happy when he found out that he and Tamy would patrol there. On his walk, Vinny rested his hand inside his pocket while he whistled a song that he vaguely remember. It was out of tune but Vinny doesn't see anyone on the lawns to hear that.

As he pass by some places there, he felt something wet touched his skin. Not long after that, he felt droplets of water dropping. He looked up on the sky to realize that a heavy rain was about to start. Vinny didn't like getting wet while he wore his robes."Blimey"He muttered. Looking for a place to stay, he saw a hut not far away from where he was. He had no other option but to stay there until the rain ends.

After a long run, Vinny saw someone already staying inside the hut. The girl looked very familiar to him. Not long after that, he realized it was the girl he tied inside the dorm. He doesn't pity her for what he did. It was her own fault. I'm just trying to teach her a lesson. He intended to cough loudly in order for the girl to notice his presence.

((OoC - sorry for my slowness, real life and blah blah blah))

Odessa turned around as soon as she heard the door open, though and almost froze. It was her prefect, again. She could have sworn he always seemed to turn up at the wrong times. But then, she wasn't as afraid now as she had been before. Still shaking a little, mind you, but she wasn't about to whiz in her robes or anything like that. Instead she straightened up and backed away from the door, making some room for him.

"Seems the storm should clear up quick enough, I don't think we were due for a long one today" She said with a somewhat tired voice. It was true that the weather hadn't called for a long storm today, but then, she was also speaking partly out of hope as she knew being trapped in a hut with this guy for any extended amount of time wasn't good news for her. She shuffled her feet every so slightly as she stood in her spot, partly out of nervous habit and partly because she was generally a slightly fidgety person.

((Np. I apologize too. RL stuffffffffffff))

"How are you enjoying in slytherin?"He asked as he made his way in. Not the kind of question that you'd expect from a guy who just tied you up. For Vinny it's not a big deal. He hexed someone most of the time.Vinny was also curious how did the girl's stay went well. Vince was just always here to turn from bad things to worst or maybe good. That depends on his mood. If he didn't felt like hexing someone, she might feel lucky not to get hexed. "It'll be better if it kept raining. I can just stay here than do my patrol."He yawned. Not to mention a first year for his entertainment!

Odessa shivered a little with his presence, moving toward a far wall, where a small wooden bench was sitting just beneath a window. She sat down and mumbled, "Oh, you know, I can't really complain. Enjoying my classes and all of that. Hope your year is going well so far." She wasn't sure exactly what she should do just then. Goyle wasn't exactly the man that you sucked up to in hopes that he would go easy on you for it. He wasn't the vain type. Instead he was the most unpredictable person she'd ever managed to meet at her time in Hogwarts and she knew that her luck was practically up to a coin toss with this guy. She merely bit her lip and hoped he was in a good mood now that he didn't have to patrol around the school.

Vinny heard Odessa answered. She must be learning the ropes in being a slytehrin. That's all he thought but didn't bother to make any comment. How can his year go so well? He remembered his new found ability. It'll be better if I just ignore her. She's still a first year anyway. Vinny went near the open window and entered his hand there. As the rain started to dripped hi arm, Vinny took a deep breathe. He was concentrating on making making his arm covered with ice again! He closed his eyes...the first year can wait.

Odessa was really confused right now. She hadn't expected to be completely ignored by him, but also wasn't sure if she should try and attract his attention for anything. That seemed a dangerous route to go so instead she moved away from the window to give him more space as he appeared to be fairly preoccupied with water. She had no idea what it was he was trying to do, but again, provoking him didn't seem like the best idea either.

The hut, upon further inspection, the hut truly appeared to be completely empty. There was a wooden bench on the other side of the hut, matching the first, but beyond that it appeared to be empty. She wondered what the story behind this hut was in the first place, why it was even on the grounds. The rain came a bit harder, thumping on the rooftop, and she looked up to see a few rafter beams and a mostly old thatched roof. Here and there water leaked through and she was spattered with a couple rogue raindrops. All the while she pondered what to do with Goyle in the hut. She could just leave but something in her said that if she did that he might just chase after her until she was within range to be jinxed, and she wasn't a good runner in the rain. So instead she'd stay there in silence with the prefect, mulling over what to do with him.

As Vinny continued focusing with his arm, he hadn't notice the frosts already appeared on his arm. He can't actually be affected by cold so it would be unlikely for him to feel much cold during winter. Vinny opened his eyes to peaked. He wasn't sure if he made it correctly. He was still practicing this new found ability of his.Vinny jumped in joy to see the that he frosts appeared on his arms. It was just like the first time that he happened to make frosts! "You see that? Huh? It's pretty cool."He yelled to Odessa. Vinny would usually hex or torment the first years but in some special cases like this, where he was happy, it was unlikely for him to do so. Someone should just make Vinny happy so that first years and puffies wouldn't have a problem.

Willow had arranged to meet Brenwyn down here in this weird isolated hut....meh. It was abandoned, and private, so no one could interrupt them. She was in some 3/4 leggings, a large grey tshirt hanging off one shoulder, and black boots, laces undone, cause she's lazy like that. Brenwyn wasn;t here yet...no wonder, Willow had a free session last thing, so had gotten down here early for once in her life. She could see everyone filing out of class back up at the castle, little dots from where she was. She felt a spot of rain drip down her back as she walked through the doorway, and saw the sky clouded over. Best stay indoors for a bit, hidden, out of the way. She found a small pile of loose building rubble, and sat on top, and began clicking her fingers, clapping and stuff, trying to practice her new found tricks, whilst she waited.

Brenwyn stepped out of the castle. She looked up at the sky as a drizzle began to fall. She shook her head. That would surely cheer her up...rain. She still hadn't done a thing with her hair. It was just sort of all over the place. Mostly it hung limply around her. She pushed it out of her face and sighed. The letter was in the pocket of her uniform skirt. She hadn't even noticed that this was the skirt she had left for the elves to hem up a little bit more. So the bottom of the skirt was unfinished and unhemmed. It was fraying in places. She was still wearing the white blouse that she had worn the day before. It didn't smell but it was badly wrinkled and not tucked in. As the rain picked up, Brenwyn began to run down to the hut where she had agreed to meet Willow. Ordinarily she would have cast a charm to protect against the rain but she couldn't think of it and was too miserable to consider magic. Rain began to drench her hair and her running was splashing mud up onto her clothes.

Brenwyn was sure that she was going to lose most of her Slytherin friends...because of her newly found status but she knew she wouldn't lose Willow. Willow's family had always been much more liberal in their beliefs than Brenwyn's. She would still have her cousin...She made it too the door and peered in. She immediately saw Willow there. She took a few steps in but seeing her cousin seemed to make it worse. She felt so miserable and knowing that she was going to tell someone about it made the pain harder to bear. She fell to her knees just inside the door and started to sob and cry. She didn't even know where to begin.

Willow was getting somewhere you could say. There were sparks lighting the tips of her fingers when she snapped them, like when you strike a match, but only on her last attempt did she get a small flame to stay. And then she heard footsteps, and looking up she saw Brenwyn....who looked awful! And her cousin dropped to the floor in tears.Their family was never one to cry much anyway, and Brenwyn had always been the prim and proper one, so seeing her like this, Willow knew something was seriously wrong. She leapt down from the pile of rubble and sprinted the few meters to her cousins side, dropping to the floor and hugging her. Bren....come on...move inside...out of the rain.. she heaved under her arms, trying to pull her further inside, then pulled out her wand and pointed to the abandoned fireplace. Incendio Flames flew, but they had already connected with her own...apparently casting fire charms was a little more dangerous. It gave her the brief look of her fist being on fire, before a larger than average ball of flame alighted in the grate and a fire sprang to life, slowly warming the hut.Willow moved back to her cousin, and put an arm round her again. What's happened? Is it your Dad again...No one could have said anything! We've been avoiding each other all term! They couldn't possibly still think her and Brenwyn were too close...they had made such an effort to avoid each other.

Brenwyn couldn't help herself. She felt a mess. She let Willow haul her further into the little shack but she couldn't stop crying. She was trying to get words out when Willow had her little incident with the fire but didn't notice. She really wasn't thinking clearly just yet. She sniffled and tried to wipe away some of her tears with her sleeve. She was pretty much at her most pathetic. If she ever looked back on this moment, she would have to deny it resolutely. She at Willow as she felt her put her arm around her. Where did she even begin? She didn't know weather to laugh or to cry when Willow asked if it was her father. ...She went with cry. She wished that it was as simple as her father beating her....she had lived with that all of her life but this was different. She shook her head. She swallowed slowly and took a few gasping breaths, trying to calm down. Have you heard from your mum and dad recently? She asked in a watery voice. Thomas had said that her mother had gone to her brother's home to hide. Maybe Willow had already heard of that, at least it was a good place to start.

Willow stared at Brenwyn really confused. So, it wasn't her Uncle Sean being all creepy again...then what was it?She remembered her cousins boggart from DADA and wondered if maybe Aisne had gotten pregnant. When Brenwyn asked if she had spoken to her parents, Willow shook her head. I'm kind of...not talking to them much right now. Why? She had pretty much ignored their letters. She had gotten one that morning actually, and although she had resisted the urge to burn it, she had left it on her bedside table unopened.

Brenwyn pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. She stared into the fire place and tried to slow her breathing. The tears were still falling but she wasn't in total hysterics anymore. She kept a close tab on her breathing for a few moments, remember her relaxation ritual, before turning to Willow, ready to speak again. Despite the fact that she felt like she could speak, she hardly knew what to say. Um... She sniffed. My mum is...at your house. She told Willow. She knew that Willow was going to ask why. She tightened her grip around her knees. My Dad...Sean...wants her dead....and me too She whispered heart-brokenly.

Brenwyn tearfully pulled out the letter. It was crumpled and messy but you could still read most of it. He isn't really my dad She said quietly. I didn't know... She handed the letter to willow and burried her face in her knees, sobbing again. She hadn't let Zelda see the letter when she came in the night before. She just told her about her real father. Did you ever meet my tutor? She mumbled against her knees. Thomas had always been her tutor. Ever since she was born. She didn't think she would ever cope with him being her father.

Brenwyn,
I'm not sure how to go about explaining this to you and I wish that I could do it in person. However, I cannot come to Hogwarts for obvious reasons and will not put you or myself in danger by including my location in a letter. Sean Dougherty is not your father. I am.
I'm so sorry Brenwyn.
Your mother did not want you to know so we hid it from you, but Sean has found out. You must not go home, do you understand? He will not hesitate to kill you. He is already after your mother and I.
When I see you, I will explain everything in more detail, I promise. But there is one more thing that you need to know. I am a selki, that makes you one as well. You need to spend an entire day, and I mean a full twenty-four hours in the water before August 7th.
Your skin is in the package that I sent. LOCK IT IN YOUR TRUNK and let no one touch it.
Please Forgive Me,
Thomas

Willow stared at Brenwyn, not quite comprehending what she had just said...not her father...well that was stupid, of course he was! She frowned as Brenwyn pulled out the letter and racked her brains...tutor...tutor...she had a vague memory of a guy she had seen once...probably the only time she had been round her cousins home...visits were rare, if they happened at all. Shaking her head, Willow looked down and read the letter. When she was finished, she looked confused, looking between Brenwyn and back down at the parchment, before handing it back. Merlin....I...so your Mums hiding out at mine? It'll be ok...Dad wont let anything happen. It'll be ok Bren......uhm....one question, whats a selkie? She felt a bit stupid for asking, but she honestly didn't know. She vaguely remembered something about water...but that could have been because of the mention of it in the letter. Whatever her cousin needed to do, Willow would be right there beside her.

Brenwyn made a little noise, not quite a whimper, in the very back of her throat. It was almost more like a whine that you would hear from a scared animal. She was just so upset at this whole thing and she wasn't dealing well. It didn't even seem like her father's blood lust was the biggest issue. It was the fact that her whole world had been turned upside down in a matter of seconds. She nodded a little, tears still falling. Part of her wished that she knew where Thomas was as well, the other part never wanted to see him again. She took a deep breath. Um...they're an ancient Irish clan...that returned to the water...as seals. The skin comes off. She burried her face in her knees I'm an animal She mumbled.

Ok,so at that,Willow really wanted to laugh.Like hell you are! You're a human...no,a selkie, which is just about the coolest thing I've heard in ages. What,so now she could swim underwater and everything! It was like being an animagus early!Though when she thought about it..she remembered Sedah and the others...Does Vic know...or Zelda? Zelda was alright for the most part..but Willow knew first hand how fickle Victoria could be.Yeah,I never got taught the old traditions much...why do you have to go in the water?I mean, you've gone this long without the...skin...is it a real seal skin? she asked dubiously. That was kinda freaky.Realising that wouldnt help, she smiled kindly.Want me to come with you? It was the best she had.

Brenwyn knew that her cousin probably believed exactly what she had said but they had been raised so differently. Brenwyn was raised to believe that halfbreeds were worse than mudbloods. It wasn't even like she was half veela. At least a veela could also be a pureblood of sorts. Thomas wasn't even a magic user. He was half muggle...and half an animal... At Willow's question, Brenwyn paled and shook her head. No! Oh Merlin, no, they'll hate me! She said tearfully. She may as well leave the school. She wouldn't have any friends.

She shrugged. Um, I'm not really sure exactly...I just have to The letter hadn't said and Brenwyn didn't know. In all of Thomas' stories he had never told her. And I don't...remember ever using it before but I must have...Selkies have to every thirty days... Now Brenwyn was even more confused. How had Thomas gotten around that...unless...no he would never do that. He never did anything like that to hurt her.

She sort of nodded. Yeah...it's exactly like one...but selkies are born wearing them She shook her head slowly. She was finally starting to calm down. I don't even know when I'm going yet She said quietly. She didn't think she would want anyone there when she went in anyways, it might not be so bad to have someone meet her as she got out though.

Willow quirked her face. Yeah the people Brenwyn considered friends were pretty much the most judgemental people ever. She wouldn't try and say it would be alright and that they wouldn't care...she didn't know that, and she knew Brenwyn wouldn't listen. Well if they do, they ain't worth shiit yeah? It doesn't limit you in any way...you're still just as strong and powerful and magical as before. Just now you have to swim a lot more... Willow smiled slightly. Little joke...too soon? Maybe.Gah she was pants at this. And how did she not remember using it...unless Aunt Aisne had confunded her...or wiped her memory or something. Willow shrugged. It was dd, but if it meant it kept Brenwyn healthy and safe, she didn't mind so much. It was at least better than Sean abusing her.Well...you know where I am if you change your mind. She nudged her cousin gently in the shoulder. Hey...it'll be ok. We'll sort it. And I'm here now. Though Quinn might understand the whole water thingy better than me. she mumbeld the last bit with a scowl. They still weren't talking. She wondered if Quinn akready knew about Brenwyn's mum moving in with them...

Brenwyn heaved a great sight that fluffed the hair out of her face. She didn't even know what to think. She respected Zelda a lot, she was her best friend after all. She didn't want her to hate her. She turned to Willow and raised an eyebrow. Really... a swimming joke. She rolled her eyes. She nodded at Willow's reminder. She would probably send her a note the night she went out so that Willow could meet her the following night. She turned to face her cousin better when she seemed to be making a real effort to really make Brenwyn feel better. She didn't quite understand the comment though. What do you mean? She asked.

Willow was glad to see Brenwyn cheering up a bit,and smiled encouragingly. She grumbled at having to talk about Quinn though.Take after our grandfathers dont we...you know Pa Akins is a pyrokinetic?Well,uh... She paused then screwed up her face in concentration, focusing hard on the air particles around her hands, till they began to burn.Flames burst from Willows palms, like she was holding a small fireplace in each hand. She grinned, pleased.Maybe her practice was paying off...but as she thought it,the balls of flame flickered and extinguished themselves, leaving her a bit disappointed.Quinns a hydrokinetic, like our other grandfather, mine and Zeldas,on my mums side...but I'm not talking to him right now.. she scowled folding her arms.No doubt Bren already knew why,Willow reckoned that Ophelia had ran to tell the whole dungeon about her little plan.

Brenwyn blinked at her cousin and nodded, she was aware. Her cousin's ability, however was a surprise. She watched with no small amount of curiosity when Willow was able to ignite her hands just like that. She had seen Erin do the same thing but her ability to sustain was much better than her cousin's. However she assumed the older Slytherin had more practice to fall back upon. She tapped her hand on the floor thoughtfully. Interesting She said slowly. Twins...yet polar opposites. She sighed when Willow said that she and Quinn weren't talking. [color=green]I wanted to tell you...but I need to be loyal to me house She was relatively sure that Willow understood though. Maybe cut Quinn some slack though? She suggested quietly.

Willow scowled. She had assumed Brenwyn would know, and she did understand why she hadn't said anything, but that didn't mean it didn't still hurt and suck loads. Yeah...thought she's be running off to tell the whole slytherin common room her genius plan. And so much for loyalty Bren...they gonna stick by you now? Yeah, tht probably stung, but like I say, Willow is a bit hurt that Brenwyns loyalty to her ouse came first. . Sorry...And also, seriously, if you hadn't realised me and Quinn were polar opposites by now....merlin! That was understatement of the year. At her cousins last comment however, Willow raised an eyebrow. Why should I? He chose her over me! He betrayed me, his family...worse, his twin. He knew how I felt about her, what she'd done to me and my friends...his friends, and he still did it. Idiot.

Brenwyn flinched at the comment. Focusing momentarilly on Willow's plight had distracted her from her own. She shot a withering glare over at her cousin but sighed and shook her head at her apology. She would be lucky if she was allowed to remain in the house. Brenwyn sighed. It would be hard to make her cousin understand, especially now that she was feeling like she was alone in the world. Well...cause with a twin...they always have your back in the end, you don't have to be lonely cause they're like a part of you. Brenwyn laid her head on her knees again. She thought that of most siblings. People who were connected weather they liked it or not. I'm sure Quinn didn't do it to hurt you

And it hit Willow, just what Brenwyn was getting at, and how selfish she was being. Dammit! Bren, you know I'm closer to you than Jasper and Alyssa put together! Sometimes it's more like you're my twin than Quinn is...me and him are so different and me and you are so similar if you think about it. She couldn't even begin to imagine what it was like to be an only child, and then to have what little direct family you did have just fall apart and turn on you. As far as I'm concerned, you're living with us now, right? You're as good as a sister to me, ok?You ain't ever gonna be alone. I'll have your back. She smiled at Brenwyn, meaning every word. They'd defied their parents to be friends, and now their parents were able to cooperate too. Family came first, and as far as Willow could see, this would only bring them closer. So, you gonna meet Thomas then? she asked, trying to tread cautiously.

Brenwyn shrugged when Willow first began speaking to her. That was nice and all but similarities didn't make for being a twin, genetics did. Brenwyn would probably always feel that way...blood had always counted for everything for her. It couldn't be that way anymore though. She looked up at her cousin then and nodded slowly. She supposed that for a while at least, she would be living with her uncle Sean and his family. Brenwyn made herself smile at Willow even though a part of her wanted to cry. Slytherins only had each others back so far, and here was Willow, whom Brenwyn had betrayed and turned her back on numerous times, offering her full support. She didn't know how to respond. She leaned her head on Willow's shoulder That's more than I deserve She admitted quietly. She took a pause at Willow's next question. I mean...I don't know. He practically raised me and taught me all he was able to, but, he lied to me...he lied to me all my life and... Brenwyn had to take a shuddering breath, trying to keep herself from going into hysterics. It had occured to her some time between receiving the letter and her meeting with Willow that Thomas had stood by as Sean beat her, cursed her, and poisoned her. What father who cared about their daughter would allow that to happen...allow another man to torment his child. She shook her head against Willow's shoulder. She didn't want to get into that with her cousin, who had objected to Sean's treatment of her since she found out it...while Brenwyn had rationalized it.

Willow shrugged off Brenwyns comment. It didn't matter. They were family, and honestly, a few trivial things that had gotten between them so far didn't matter in the long run. You're family. Of course you deserve it, so stop talking dung, yeah? She grinned and stroked her cousins hair as she rested her head on Willows shoulder. It was all nice and soft, even when she was a mess like this. Thats what comes when you actually look after yourself and take pride in your appearance, something Willow didn't spend much time doing. She listened and gripped Brenwyn round the shoulders as she got more and more wound up by it all. She could see exactly where she was coming from. Honestly...if you want my opinion, I think you need answers...which means talking to him. Then you can decide if you want anything more to do with him. Willow did wonder where Thomas had been all the years, why hadn't he said anything, unless it was for fear of Sean, which was fair enough really. And as far as Willow knew, her Aunt Aisne hadn't known everything about how Sean had treated Brenwyn, so why would Thomas know. Bringing it up right now didn't really seem the most tactical thing, even to clumsy 'foot in mouth' Willow, who usually didn't have any sort of filter for those sorts of things.

Brenwyn tightened her lips for a moment, trying to calm herself down a little bit. She really couldn't help but feel a bit worse for how she had treated Willow, and maybe even more for not being sure she could change her ways. Thanks She finally said quietly as Willow stroked her hair. It was comforting, and foreign. Simple comforts like that had not existed in her home. It wasn't proper to be so distressed that one desired such comforts. She managed to look her cousin in the face as she gave her advice. She sighed and nodded. Her cousin's reasoning did want sense. But she couldn't figure out anything that would make sense to her. I could try that I guess She acquiesced quietly.

Brenwyn needed cheering up...Willow hated seeing her cousin all down and depressed, it wasn't right. It'll be alright you know....I mean...I know your D....Sean....will calm down eventually. It's not like its your fault who you were born to. You don't really get to choose your parents. She gave Brenwyn a smile and a nudge, then stood up and pulled out her wand. I know what'll cheer you up...a duel. Come on then cuz....show me what you got It might work, it might not, but Willow knew how much Brenwyn had wanted to duel her before, and annoyingly their brief one in class had been cut short.
